Turkey increases its exports, imports in April 2018

As of April 2018, the total value of Turkish exports amounted to $13.869 billion, which is a 7.8 percent growth compared to April 2017, the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK) said in a report May 31.

As of April this year, imports to Turkey reached $20.554 billion, which is a 15.6 percent increase compared to April last year, according to the report.

TUIK noted that as of April 2018, Turkey’s exports to the EU increased by 22 percent compared to April 2017, amounting to $7.28 billion.

"As of April 2018, Turkish exports to Germany amounted to $1.366 billion, to the UK - $852 million and to Italy - $784 million,” said the report.

Germany ranks first in the list of countries from which Turkey imports goods.

"As of April 2018, Turkey's imports from Germany amounted to $1.978 billion, from Russia - $1.891 billion and from China - $1.779 billion," said the report.
