Kryukov Railway Car Building Works PJSC has prepared and sent a package of proposals on joint production of railway cars to Azerbaijan, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine told Trend June 4.
The embassy reminded that in October last year the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv visited Azerbaijan.
"During the meetings, the Azerbaijani side expressed interest in establishing a joint venture for the production of railway cars in our country. In this regard, Stepan Kubiv gave a recommendation regarding the Kryukov Railway Car Building Works," the embassy stated.
The diplomatic mission announced that in December last year, a meeting was held with the executive staff of the Kryukov Railway Car Building Works, during which the Ukrainian side was invited to prepare a package of proposals for creation of a joint venture.
"After some time, a package of proposals was received from the Kryukov Railway Car Building Works, which was sent to Azerbaijan. At the moment, the issue is under consideration by the relevant ministries of Azerbaijan," the embassy stated.
The diplomatic mission also expressed hope for an early response on the issue of establishment of a working group.
"As soon as the relevant instruction is received, a working group to engage in this issue will most likely be established. We would also like to note that from June 9 to 11 this year, the Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics Exhibition will be held in Baku. According to the information available to us, the executive staff of the Kryukov Railway Car Building Works intends to participate in the event, during which the bilateral meetings on this issue will also be held," the embassy stated.
The Kryukov Railway Car Building Works manufactures various types of freight and passenger rail cars, which are exported to many countries.
