Baku, Azerbaijan, June 16
By Ali Mustafayev – Trend:
Uzbekistan Airways OJSC plans to receive two Airbus A320neo aircraft in December 2018, Uzbek media outlets reported.
"We hope to get both planes in December this year, but Airbus has some problems with timely deliveries of aircraft; their factories do not have enough time to produce engines, but we are doing our best to make the planes come on time," said Gennadiy Kharlap, Deputy Director General of Uzbekistan Airways.
He added that the A320neo aircraft is one of the newest in its segment.
"The aircraft will allow to launch flights to the whole Europe due to the fact that it is 20 percent more economical than its predecessor, and its range has increased from 4,500 kilometers to more than 6,000 kilometers," Kharlap said
Currently, the air fleet of Uzbekistan Railways consists of Boeing-757/767, Boeing-787-8 Dreamliner, A320 aircraft, as well as Boeing-767-300BCF cargo aircraft.
