Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with five main trade partners reached $5.1 billion in January-May 2017.
The figure accounts for 45.56 percent of all volume of the country’s trade turnover, says a report of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
In January-May 2017, Italy ranked first in the list of Azerbaijan’s foreign trading partners with a trade turnover of $1.78 billion and a specific weight of 15.86 percent. Italy is followed by Turkey - $1.17 billion (10.42 percent), Russia - $919.29 million (8.19 percent), Israel - $626.7 million (5.58 percent) and Germany - $618.35 million (5.51 percent).

Italy also remains leader for consumption of Azerbaijani goods. The country accounted for $1.65 million (22.41 percent) of Azerbaijan’s total export volume.
Italy is followed by Israel - $614.9 million (8.34 percent), Turkey- $562.2 million (7.63 percent), Taiwan- $429.07 million (5.82 percent) and Indonesia - $387.88 million (5.26 percent). The share of these countries in total export volume of Azerbaijan is 49.46 percent.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased the largest amount of products in Russia - $669.14 million (17.36 percent). Then follows Turkey - $607.27 million (15.75 percent), China - $393.2 million (10.2 percent), Germany - $293.44 million (7.61 percent) and the US - $186.74 million (4.84 percent). The share of these countries in the total volume of Azerbaijan's imports is 55.76 percent.
In January-May this year, Azerbaijan’s trade with other countries amounted to $11.2 billion. Imports amounted to $3.86 billion, exports - $7.37 billion. The surplus in the reporting period amounted to $3.5 billion.
