Inflation rate reaches 2.6% in Kazakhstan

Inflation rate reached 2.6 percent in Kazakhstan in January-June 2018, said a message posted on the website of the Statistics Committee of the Kazakh Ministry of National Economy.

According to the message, food prices for six months (June 2018-December 2017) increased by 2.9 percent, non-food items - by 2.5 percent, paid services - by 2.4 percent.

Since the beginning of 2018 (June 2018-December 2017), prices increased for cabbages - by 49.1 percent, sweet peppers - by 22.5 percent, beets - by 18.3 percent, carrots - by 16.4 percent, granulated sugar - by 11.9 percent, fresh fruits - by 9.6 percent, potatoes - by 7.6 percent, cheese - by 7 percent, canned milk - by 6.2 percent, cheese and curd - by 5.5 percent, coffee - 5.2 percent, butter, dairy products - 4.1 percent, meat products - 3.7 percent, horse meat - 3.5 percent, lamb, beef - 3.4 percent, fresh milk - by 3.3 percent, onions - 3.2 percent, pork - by 2.9 percent, the committee said.

The prices decreased for cucumbers - by 41.1 percent, tomatoes - by 24.2 percent, buckwheat - by 19 percent, garlic - by 18.4 percent, eggs - by 10.6 percent, poultry - by 1.9 percent, black tea - 1.5 percent.

Prices for air tickets increased by 15.6 percent, intercity bus tickets - by 4.9 percent, rail tickets - by 3.6 percent, intracity bus tickets - by 3.1 percent.
