Uzbekistan establishes Association of Soybean Producers

The Association of Soybean Producers was established Uzbekistan on July 5, the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan announced.

The Association will implement measures to organize soybean production in Uzbekistan and will carry out a unified scientific, technological and investment policy in this sphere.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered to create the Association during his visit to the Samarkand region back in March 2018.

Uzbekistan harvested 14,000 tons of soybean from 12,000 hectares of sown areas in 2017. The population was supplied with 2,000 tons of soybean oil, poultry enterprises - with 10,000 tons of edible soybean meal.

In 2018, the country is allocating 18,500 hectares for soy. Also, 15 farms specializing in cultivation of this oilseed culture have been created.

It was earlier planned to grow soy on 11,200 hectares and harvest 22,100 tons of soybean.
