Uzbekistan has reduced the production of portland cement in 1H2018, the News of Uzbekistan portal reported.
The enterprises of this industry have produced 3,953,800 tons of cement for six months, the message says. The production of portland cement in the country amounted to 4,198,700 tons in the same period in 2017.
Cement enterprises of the country, Kizilkumcement JSC, Bekabadcement JSC are organizing cement sales to the population at a price not higher than 500,000 sums per ton (from 430,000 sums/ton to 490,000 sums/ton depending on the place of sale).
The head of state established a price threshold for cement for a number of contractors in May this year. The cement producing enterprises are allowed to sell 2 million tons of cement to contractors who build affordable housing for citizens who need to improve their living conditions, social facilities, transport infrastructure and water facilities at the expense of centralized sources at the price of 367,000 sums per ton (including VAT) with 100 percent prepayment.
Next year, it is planned to sell to domestic consumers 8 million 424,000 tons of the binder construction material in the trading of the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange.
