Azerbaijan exported goods totaling $ 8.66 billion in January-June 2018, which is 64.3 percent more than in the same period last year, the State Customs Committee (SCC) said in a statement.
The share of the public sector in exports amounted to $6.46 billion, the private sector – $2.16 billion, individuals – $39.09 million. The share of the private sector in exports increased from 16.5 to 24.9 percent in one year.
Azerbaijan exported oil and oil products, gas, fruits, vegetables and plastics most of all in 1H2018.

The volume of imports amounted to $4.66 billion during the reporting period, which is 36.7 percent more than in January-June 2017. The share of the public sector in import operations amounted to $744.59 million, private sector – to $3.63 billion, individuals – to $284.22 million.
The most popular products imported by Azerbaijan during the reporting period were various machines and mechanisms, ferrous metals and products made of them, vehicles and spare parts for them, plastic and products made of plastic and wood and products made of wood.

In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade operations increased by almost 53.5 percent in the first six months of 2018, compared to the same period in 2017, amounting to $13.32 billion. The positive balance in the reporting period amounted to more than $4 billion, which is more than twice as much as in the first half of last year ($1.86 billion).
Azerbaijan exported 2,393 types of goods and imported 6,865 types of goods during the reporting period.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade partners are 167 countries. Some 12 203 legal entities and individuals (5 180 legal entities and 7 023 individuals) participated in foreign trade activities as a whole during the reporting period.
