Major S.Korean company to assist Uzbekistan implementing blockchain in agricultural sector

One of the first blockchain companies of South Korea, Glosfer, will help Uzbekistan implement blocking technology to check the country of origin and distribution records of agricultural products in Uzbekistan, the memorandum concluded between the South Korean company and the Center for Support of Entrepreneurship and Farmership of Uzbekistan read.

The South Korean company is also planning to promote cooperation with the Uzbek Fund for Support of Export of Small Business and Private Entrepreneurs in development of crypto currency and its implementation in various spheres of business.

“Uzbekistan actively participates in attracting foreign capital and introducing advanced technologies to improve its competitiveness and further economic growth,” CEO of Glosfer Kim Taewon said.

Glosfer is the leading South Korean supplier of blockchain technologies and services. Based on its experience as a first-generation blockchain company, the company is seeking to expand its activities in various sectors of both the South Korean and international markets, using innovative technologies and services, including the PACKUTH block-based PHP API platform, as well as its online and offline crypto-currency trading platforms.

The Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan earlier announced that it will expand investment cooperation in development of the digital economy, including implementation of blockchain technology, together with the South Korean company NCG Engineering,

On July 11, a source at the Uzbek Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center told Trend that a “road map” on introduction and development of digital economy of Uzbekistan, as well as on licensing of activities in the sphere of the crypto-assets turnover, will be completed by the end of July 2018.
