Tashkent may have new hotel network, free Internet in subway

The Head of the Tashkent City Administration Jahangir Artykkhodjaev has approved the project of creating a free Wi-Fi network in the capital city subway, Podrobno.uz reported.

"The presentation of the projects to the Acting Head of Administration Jahangir Artykkhodjayev was held July 14 in the city of Tashkent. He examined the plans of more than 100 business and investment projects from 11 districts of Tashkent. Artykkhodjayev suggested business representatives to meet regularly, to develop Public Private Partnership (PPP), to provide assistance to city administration in development of the city parks. He announced several master plans, including the Fargona Yuli project," said a message on the Facebook page of the public council under the capital city administration.

The vast majority of the submitted projects were approved. The projects for construction of a network of Best Western hotels, creation of free Wi-Fi network in the subway, construction of a promenade street, and so on are among the approved projects.

Earlier, the leading mobile operator of the country Beeline company has repeatedly stated its readiness to implement the project of creation of free Wi-Fi network in subway.

"This project was discussed three times. We are ready to start to create the network at any time. Communication in the subway is a common phenomenon in most countries, I am sure we will achieve this sooner or later," said the company's Financial Director Sergei Cherepnin.
