Nursultan Nazarbayev international airport served 2,145,154 passengers in January-June 2018, which is 17 percent more than in the same period of 2017, the airport's press service said in a message.
During the first six months of 2018, the airport increased passenger traffic on domestic routes by 12 percent (1,346,578 people used the airport services), as well as on international routes by 26 percent year over year (798,576 passengers used the airport services).
In the first half of 2018, 14,353 flights were carried out from Astana airport (11 percent more than in the first six months of 2017).
Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport meets up to 160 flights daily, being one of the most modern airports of the Eurasian continent.
The maximum capacity of the airport is 2,500 passengers per hour. Kazakh and foreign airlines have regular flights on 21 domestic and 36 international destinations from the airport.
In 2017 the passenger traffic of the airport for the first time exceeded 4 million people.
