Turkey sees rise in sale of real estate

In June 2018, the volume of real estate sales in Turkey increased by 22.4 percent compared to the same period in 2017 to 119,413 objects of real estate, the Institute of Statistics of Turkey (TUİK) said in a message.

During this period, 20,547 objects of real estate were sold in Istanbul, 12,078 objects of real estate - in Ankara, and 6,888 objects of real estate - in Izmir.

"The remaining 79,900 objects of real estate fall to the share of other Turkish cities," TUİK repotted.

During the reported period, in Turkey, 2,060 objects of real estate were sold to foreigners, which is 7 percent more compared to the same month in 2017.

"In June 2018, foreigners purchased 764 objects of real estate in Istanbul, and 525 objects in Antalya, while the remaining 771 objects acquired by foreigners fall to the share of other Turkish cities," the report reads.

In June 2018, Iraqi citizens purchased 315 objects of real estate in Turkey, Iranian citizens – 228 objects and citizens of Russia – 169 objects.

"The remaining 1,348 objects of real estate fall to the share of citizens of other countries," according to the report.
