Inflation rate down in Kazakhstan

Inflation in Kazakhstan stood at 0.2 percent in June 2018, while it has reached 2.6 percent since early 2018, said the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

Inflation in the country amounted to 3.7 percent in January-July 2017 and totaled 7.1 percent as of 2017.

The National Bank of Kazakhstan said that the annual inflation in the country stood at 5.9 percent, which is within the bank’s target corridor of 5-7 percent for late 2018.

In addition, the prices for non-food products increased by 8.4 percent, while the prices for food products and paid services rose by 4.2 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively year-on-year.

The population’s inflation expectations have remained unchanged in June, said the bank. The survey held among the population showed that the expected inflation in a year is 6 percent.
