Transport and logistics center established in Turkmenistan

An open type joint-stock company Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan was established in Turkmenistan, reads the presidential decree.

The document was signed in order to make effective use of international transport and transit corridors, increase the competitiveness of the transport network, and increase the volume of transit cargo.

The founders include the Ministry of Railways with a share of 35 percent, the Ministry of Road Transport - 10 percent, the Ministry of Communications - 5 percent, Turkmen Airlines - 5 percent, the state service of sea and river transport - 10 percent , and also the state insurance organization - 5 percent. The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan is ordered to ensure registration of OJSC "Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan" in accordance with the established procedures.

Turkmenistan's capabilities allow the creation of transport and logistics centers throughout the country, especially in places adjacent to state borders.

A transport and logistics center (TLC) is under construction at the new international Caspian port of Turkmenbashi opened in May, to provide services to consumers at the junction of "industrial manufacturing - transport-trade." It is expected to include a warehouse complex with telecommunication and cargo handling equipment, information and technological support for the process of transportation and handling of goods. The annual throughput of the port is 17-18 million tons. Together with the previous port, this figure is predicted to be 25-26 million tons.
