Investments in Kazakhstan's transport, logistics sectors announced

Some 578.5 billion tenge were invested in the transport and store-keeping sectors of Kazakhstan in January-June 2018, which is 37 percent more than a year earlier, EnergyProm reports.

The largest volume of capital investments fell on Astana (25.2 percent), Atyrau region (16.5 percent) and Mangistau region (12.8 percent), the message says.

A lot of projects are implemented in the transport sector in Kazakhstan: the network of oil and gas pipelines is being modernized and expanded, the airport infrastructure is being updated, the Aktau sea port and the Khorgos dry port are being developed, roads are being built and transport corridors, including international ones, for example, New Silk Road, are being opened.

Transport and logistics sectors show a strong growth. Thus, the gross added value of the infrastructure industry reached 4.3 trillion tenge last year, which accounts for 8.2 percent of Kazakhstan's GDP.
