In January-July 2018, 33,900 new enterprises and organizations were created in Uzbekistan, which is 6,300 (22.6 percent) more compared to the January-July 2017, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
At the same time, the number of enterprises and organizations that ceased their activities decreased by 13.9 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 4,000.
As a result, the total number of operating enterprises and organizations since the beginning of 2018 has increased by 24,100 (8.4 percent) and amounted to 309,600.
Enterprises in the trade sphere account for 22.0 percent of the total amount, in industry - for 17.2 percent, construction - 8.8 percent, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 7.5 percent, housing and food - 6.0 percent, transportation and storage - 4.1 percent, information and communication - 2.2 percent, healthcare and social services - 2.1 percent, and in other spheres of economic activity - 30.1 percent.
