Nearly 30,000 small enterprises created in Uzbekistan

In January-July 2018, 29,800 new small enterprises and micro-firms were created in Uzbekistan, which is 13.1 percent more than in January-July 2017, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan announced.

By Aug. 1, 2018, 250,500 small enterprises and micro-firms had been operating in Uzbekistan, which is 8 percent more than by Aug. 1, 2017.

According to information, the largest number of small enterprises and micro-firms was created in the trade sector – 7,041, industry – 6,554, agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 3,616, construction – 3,867.

It was earlier announced that in January-July 2018, 33,900 new enterprises and organizations were created in Uzbekistan, which is 6,300 (22.6 percent) more compared to the January-July 2017.

At the same time, the number of enterprises and organizations that ceased their activities decreased by 13.9 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 4,000.

As a result, the total number of operating enterprises and organizations since the beginning of 2018 has increased by 24,100 (8.4 percent) and amounted to 309,600.
