Chinese companies are ready to contribute to Azerbaijan’s economic development, Chinese ambassador to Azerbaijan Wei Jinghua said in an interview with Trend.
"The 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up policy is celebrated in 2018,” the diplomat added. “During this period, great changes occurred in the country. Experience was accumulated in the field of economic liberalization, optimization of the investment sphere, construction of industrial, scientific and technical parks.”
“The Azerbaijani government continues to carry out economic reforms, constantly improves the investment sphere,” Jinghua said. “Chinese enterprises are ready to participate in this process."
“The Chinese side also welcomes Azerbaijan's investments in China and the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in a number of areas,” Jinghua said.
"The spheres of oil and gas, infrastructure, ICT, alternative energy, tourism, production of equipment, creation of free trade zones, construction of industrial and agricultural parks can be mentioned," the ambassador said. “I am confident that as far as the investment climate in Azerbaijan develops, more Chinese companies will arrive in the country for carrying out investment activity and setting up enterprises."
According to the data of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and China amounted to $616.402 million in January-June 2018.
