Uzbek auto industry continues to grow

In January-July 2018, Uzbekistan produced over 94,370 cars, which is 18.8 percent more than in the first seven months of 2017, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan stated.

The production of trucks on the contrary fell by 18.2 percent to 1,920.

In January-July 2018, Uzbekistan produced 303 buses, which is 36.5 percent less compared to the same period in 2017.

Production of automobile engines in Uzbekistan amounted to 70,530, which is 18.8 percent more compared to January-July 2017.

In January-July of 2018, the production of tractors totaled 2,400, which is 7.5 times more than in the same period in 2017.

It was earlier reported that Uzbek automaker GM Uzbekistan could not sell a single car in Russia in July 2018.

In January-July of 2018, the company's total sales in Russia dropped by 17 percent compared to the same period in 2017 and reached 5,180 units.
