Azerbaijan, China expand co-op in agrarian sector

Azerbaijan and China may establish cooperation in the field of technology transfer in various industries, the head of the Business Incubation Center of the High Technologies Park of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, and "Azerbaijan-China" Technology Transfer Center Vusal Suleymanli told Trend on Aug. 15.

The prospects of the cooperation were considered within the framework of the international conference held on July 22-25 in China on "Modern technologies in the agrarian sector."

"During the meeting, the prospects of transferring Azerbaijani technologies to China, as well as the technologies of Chinese companies that can be applied in Azerbaijan, were considered. Meetings were held with about 10 Chinese companies, whose activities are related to the agrarian sector, oil and gas industry and manufacturing automation. We got acquainted with various technologies that can be used in Azerbaijani agrarian sector," Suleymanli said.

Technologies for efficient energy management, alternative energy, solutions that can be used in monitoring and data collection (SCADA) etc. are among those that can be brought to Azerbaijan.

"Industries in which fruitful cooperation can be successfully established, are the oil and gas industry, agriculture, biotechnology and the application of manufacturing automation systems," Suleymanli said.

Development of three projects in the High-Tech Park which are planned to be implemented jointly with Chinese Yantai High-tech international Corporation was also discussed during the visit to China. These are projects of soil fertility restoration with the help of biological fertilizers, purification by biological methods of technogenically contaminated territories and the re-use method of substrate packages.
