Kazakhstan’s Global Gas Group LLP plans to take part in construction of energy infrastructure for the Western Europe - Western China International Transit Corridor, a representative of the Kazakh company told Trend Aug. 15.

Participation in the implementation of the project is envisaged by the marketing strategy of Global Gas Group, which is the only organization supplying natural gas to facilities that are far from main pipelines in Kazakhstan, according to the company.

The Western Europe - Western China International Transit Corridor is a transnational infrastructure project designed to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Europe and Asia.

The length of the highway from Russia’s St. Petersburg to the port of Lianyungang in China is 8,445 kilometers. Some 2,233 kilometers of the highway pass through the territory of Russia, 2,787 kilometers through the territory of Kazakhstan and 3,425 kilometers through the territory of China.

The corridor’s construction began in 2008. The China-Kazakhstan section is already functioning. The corridor’s full commissioning, despite official statements, is possible no earlier than 2030.

In addition, the Global Gas Group LLP is also preparing to supply natural gas to the socio-cultural objects of Kazakh Astana city, located in the coverage area of Turan, the first complex in Kazakhstan for regasification of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

For this purpose, as part of the preparation for the heating season of 2018-2019, the work is underway to expand the production capacity of the complex.

“As part of implementation of the energy-efficient policy laid down in the concept for the transition to the green economy, Global Gas Regazification, a subsidiary of Global Gas Group, is implementing the Clean Transport project by carrying out activities for vehicles to switch from using traditional fuels (diesel and gasoline) to a clean energy source - compressed or liquefied methane natural gas,” the company said.

This project envisages construction of the necessary infrastructure, including gas filling stations, at the expense of Global Gas Regazification, according to the representative.

In general, by 2021, the company plans to increase the volume of LNG sales to 0.5 billion cubic meters, through the phased transfer of industrial facilities to a resource-saving model by replacing environmentally unfriendly energy resources with an environmentally clean source of heat and energy - methane.

By 2030, Global Gas Group hopes for the widespread introduction of LNG in Kazakhstan as a motor fuel for municipal and commercial transport of special and cargo purpose.

Global Gas Group is a Kazakh gasification company, and its main activity is the development and launch of new high-tech products, as well as the solution of strategic issues that include attracting investments and managing projects at the international level.

Global Gas Regazification is a subsidiary of Global Gas Group, and its main activity is the production of commercial gas through regasification of LNG and its further wholesale sale. The company deals with all technical and technological implementation of projects, starting from the design and construction of production plants and networks to their operation.

Global Gas Group commissioned Turan, the first complex in Kazakhstan for regasification of LNG, on February 8, 2017. The second complex for regasification of LNG, called “Borovoye” was commissioned July 2018 in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan.

In total, about 700 million tenges of budget funds were saved for the heating season of 2017-2018 due to the complete replacement of diesel fuel with methane natural gas, while emissions of harmful substances were reduced by 23 tons.
