Korean construction company joins Tashkent City project in Uzbekistan

Korean specialized construction company Bomi Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. has invested $50 million in the construction of the international business center (IBC) Tashkent City.

Korean Bomi Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. company has invested $ 50 million in the construction of the international business center (IBC) Tashkent City in the capital of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek media reported.

The corresponding investment contract between the Office of the Tashkent City project and the Korean company was signed on Aug. 15.

Thus, Bomi Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. has become a new investor in Tashkent City IBC project and will build an office building as part of the project.

The company intends to complete the construction of a multi-storey office building in 2021.

Negotiations on mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides began in December 2017 after the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to South Korea.

Earlier, the news broke that the well-known companies from Germany, South Korea and the UK are engaged in the implementation of a large-scale urban development project Tashkent City in the capital of Uzbekistan, and the project is under the personal control of the head of state.

The project is implemented exclusively at the expense of financial injections of domestic and foreign investors, as stipulated in the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated July 28, 2017.

The urban planning documentation, architectural concept and engineering design are also developed at the expense of own funds of foreign and local investors, according to the same legal act.

The whole project territory is divided into eight separate land plots – tender lots, each of which has different stages of completion of work until the end of 2021 and individual investors.
