In the first half of 2018, commercial banks of Uzbekistan bought $1.28 billion from the population, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said in its report “Review of cash circulation in the first half of 2018.”
In the first quarter of 2018, banks bought $420 million from the population.
In the second quarter of this year, commercial banks of Uzbekistan purchased $868 million from the population, which is more than twice exceeds the figure of the first quarter of this year.
The report of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan notes that in the first quarter of 2018, the country received $950 million through international money transfer systems, whereas in the second quarter of this year, Uzbekistan received $1.33 billion through these systems (a 1.4 times increase).
