Azerbaijan intends to open a trading house in Poland till late 2018, trade representative of Azerbaijan in Poland Nemat Nagdaliyev told Trend Aug. 16.

“The work in this direction is underway,” he said. “The negotiations are being held at the level of the two countries.”

"Of course, this is a rather long process,” Nagdaliyev said. “It is necessary to carefully consider the demand in European markets in general, and in particular, on Azerbaijani products, and agree on all proposals and initiatives.”

“The Polish consumer market is practically consistent with the pan-European market,” he said. “We assume that Azerbaijan’s Trading House, to be opened in Poland, will have the same local products as the country’s Trade House in Latvia, namely, wine products, various beverages, juices, compotes, tinned products, etc."

"The market of alcoholic beverages is more promising for our exporters, so we are trying to focus on the export of such products,” Nagdaliyev said. “The opening ceremony of a trading house in Poland can give a positive impetus to the development of trade turnover and will have a certain positive impact on its dynamics, but next year."

In 2017 Poland became the fourth biggest trading partner of Azerbaijan.

To date, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Israel, Germany and China are the biggest trading partners of Azerbaijan.

Poland is the sixth biggest market in the EU with fast-growing economy. In 2017, the country's GDP grew by 4.6 percent, while the forecast for 2018 was 3.8 percent.
