Sixt SE, a European multinational car rental company, is starting activity in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek media reported with reference to the country’s Association of Private Tourist Organizations.
An official presentation of Sixt Uzbekistan, a subsidiary of Sixt SE, has been recently held in Tashkent city.
“Sixt offers cars for rent in more than 110 countries,” the association said in a message. “Now residents and guests of Uzbekistan will be able to use this service. The advantage of the company is that customers can rent a car with or without a driver, at affordable prices, for trips around Uzbekistan.”
Sixt SE company provides car rental services in over 4,500 locations in over 105 countries.
The company has a wide international network of representative offices. The headquarters of the company is in Munich (Germany). The company’s fleet has more than 220,000 cars.
Presently, Sixt SE provides a wide range of services related to road transportation. The company’s services include car rental (including long-term, weekend rental, etc.), car rental with driver (including transfers to airports and railway stations, provision of cars for events), car leasing, etc.
Sixt SE has partner relations with more than 50 airline companies around the world and participates in their loyalty programs. The company is a partner in a great number of hotel chains such as Hyatt, Hilton, etc., and participates in their programs.
In late July, Uzbekistan allowed renting cars for a period of 30 days without a notary.
The corresponding changes were provided by amendments and additions to the civil code approved by the president of Uzbekistan.
In accordance with the changes, legal entities that provide services for the rental of cars and motor vehicles can conclude contracts with individuals in simple written form for up to 30 days.
To register a lease, only an international driving license will be required in addition to the passport. As a result, citizens of Uzbekistan and foreign tourists can rent a car for up to 30 days without notarizing and registering with the internal affairs bodies.
The first services for short-term car rental (car-sharing) are planned to be launched in four tourist centers of Uzbekistan – Bukhara, Tashkent, Samarkand and Khorezm cities.
