Kazakhstan, China implement projects totaling more than $27B

The implementation of Kazakh-Chinese projects is moving forward, the Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek said during the Kazakh-Chinese business forum in Astana, Kazakh media reported.

He noted that the implementation of joint Kazakh-Chinese projects within framework of cooperation in the field of industrialization and investment, which includes 51 projects totaling more than $27 billion with the creation of about 20,000 jobs is in the active phase.

"Four out of 51 projects have already been implemented to date. By the end of the year, we plan to launch eight more. A large number of facilities are at the stage of implementation, at the stage of construction, that is, we are now entering the very phase of active implementation of the instructions given by the leaders of the two states for the implementation of the joint industrial innovation program," he said.

According to the announced data, over five years, a number of major infrastructure projects have been commissioned: Lianyungang port, dry port of Khorgos on the Chinese border, the Aktau port on the Caspian sea, new "Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan - Iran" railway with a total length of about 900 km, connecting Central Asia with the Persian Gulf and the port of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, international transit corridor "Western Europe - Western China", part of which passes through the territory of Kazakhstan.
