Assets of Uzbek commercial banks increase

Assets of Uzbek commercial banks as of August 1 this year amounted to 187.08 trillion soums, which is 76.9 percent more than in the same period last year, Uzbek media reported Sept. 10.

In the reporting period, the credit investments of Uzbek banks increased by 91.6 percent and amounted to 137.76 trillion soums.

The volume of attracted deposits exceeded 65.23 trillion soums, which is 54.5 percent more than in the same period last year.

The aggregate capital of Uzbek commercial banks as of August 1, 2018 reached 23.66 trillion soums, which is 118.1 percent more than in the same period last year.

The National Bank of Uzbekistan (50.67 trillion soums, or 27.1 percent of all assets of the banking sector of Uzbekistan), Asaka Bank (26.13 trillion soums, or 14 percent) and Uzpromstroybank (25.24 trillion soums, or 13.5 percent) became the leaders in terms of assets’ value.

These same banks were leading in terms of loans’ value as well. The National Bank of Uzbekistan granted loans worth 38.45 trillion soums (27.9 percent of total loans’ value), Uzpromstroybank issued loans worth 21.93 trillion soums (15.9 percent) and Asaka Bank granted loans worth 20.26 trillion soums (14.7 percent).

The TOP 3 in terms of the capital’s value also included the National Bank of Uzbekistan (5.5 trillion soums, or 23.3 percent of the total value of the capital), Asaka Bank (3.12 trillion soums, or 13.2 percent) and Uzpromstroybank (2.29 trillion soums, or 9.7 percent of total capital’s value).

The National Bank of Uzbekistan (11.56 trillion soums, or 17.8 percent of the total value of attracted deposits), Asaka Bank (7.18 trillion soums, or 11 percent) and Uzpromstroybank (4.48 trillion soums, or 6.9 percent) entered the TOP 3 in terms of attracted deposits’ value.
