Yield record registered in North Kazakhstan region

In Aiyrtau district of North Kazakhstan region, the "Babyk-Burluk" LLP has updated the regional record for wheat yields by increasing it to 62.5 quintals per hectare, the Regional Governor's office said in a statement.

The previous record of 55 quintals per hectare belonged to the "Tukum" LLP.

In general, the harvesting is in full swing in the North Kazakhstan region.

As of September 13, the region has threshed 32 percent or 878,000 hectares of the crop acreage. The average yield has been 14.9 quintals per hectare.

Meanwhile, the Kostanay region holds the leading position in grain harvesting today - 37.9 percent of the crop area has been threshed here. It is followed by the North Kazakhstan region, where the harvesting has been completed by 27.3 percent. Akmola region comes in third with 22.3 percent of the areas sown with cereal crops harvested.

A total of 3.687 million tons of grain have been harvested in these regions.
