Iran’s production of iron ore concentrate rose by 19 percent in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started Mach 21) compared to the same period last year, according to a report by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation, known as IMIDRO.
Some 18.42 million tons of iron ore concentrate were produced in Iran over five month to August 22, IMIDRO said in a recent report, IRIB news agency reported on September 18.
During the same corresponding period last year, a total of 15.54 million tons of iron ore concentrate were produced.
Golgohar Mining and Industrial Complex accounted for 6.61 million tons of the total output, followed by Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex with 3.72 million tons, Iran Central Iron Ore Company with 2.26 million tons, Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development Holding Company with 2.09 million tons, Goharzamin Iron Ore Company with 1.83 million tons, Opal Parsian Sangan with 1.83 million tons and National Development Company with 456,959 tons.
