Turkey discloses opening date of new highway

A new highway between Ankara and Nigde province in Turkey will be put into operation in 2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Sept. 20.

The total length of the new road will be 330 kilometers and the route is one of the important highways in Turkey.

"The total cost of the project is 1.5 billion euros," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, five viaducts, 77 above-ground crossings, 34 bridges have been built during the construction of the new road.

"The construction of the new highway facilitates the growth of freight traffic within the country," the ministry added.
