Household income in Kazakhstan increases by almost 8%

Household income increased by 7.9 percent in Kazakhstan in the second quarter of 2018 and amounted to over 520,000 tenge, Kazakh media reported.

In the same period of 2017, the total cash income of households amounted to more than 480,000 tenge.

The main source was income from hired labor (almost 335,000 tenge). Pensions amounted to over 91,000 tenge and made up 19.7 percent of household incomes.

The income from self-employment and entrepreneurial activity amounted to 57,000 tenge. Aid from relatives, alimony, allowances and other social transfers made up only 7.7 percent (40,000 tenge) of the incomes.

Traditionally, the highest earnings from hired labor are in the Mangistau Province (639,500 tenge), lowest - in the Turkestan Province (215,000 tenge).
