Turkmenistan publishes GDP growth forecast for 2019

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking at a meeting of the National Parliament (People's Assembly) Sept. 25, said that the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) at the level of 6.2 percent will be ensured in the country in the current and next year, the Turkmen government said in a statement.

The head of state said that currently, excluding the fuel and energy complex (FEC), the share of the private sector in the country's GDP is 68 percent.

He noted that the main share of funds from the state budget is spent on the development of education, health and public services, as well as on pensions.

Earlier it was reported that the GDP growth of Turkmenistan amounted to 6.2 percent in the first eight months of 2018.
