Prices for consumer goods, services in Uzbekistan up

Prices for consumer goods and services in Uzbekistan in September 2018 increased by an average of 1.8 percent, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

For the first nine months of this year, inflation in the country was 8.1 percent. Prices for goods on average increased by 1.9 percent, for services – by 1.2 percent.

Compared to the end of 2017, prices for goods on average increased by 7.4 percent, for services – by 10.1 percent.

In January-August 2018, inflation had been gradually decreasing. In September, the inflation rate increased in Year-on-Year comparison. Nevertheless, they remained lower than in January-July 2018.

Over the month, food prices rose by 3.3 percent, non-food products – by 0.3 percent, services – by 1.2 percent. Prices for services and non-food items have risen more significantly than groceries.
