Boeing strengthens cooperation with Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to New York, has met Director of International Operations & Policy at the Boeing company Bryan Lopp, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper wrote October 1.

Lopp confirmed his interest in strengthening and building up mutually beneficial business contacts with Turkmen partners.

"Turkmenistan's choice of aircraft of this brand is due to the accumulated positive experience of their practical use on international, regional and domestic airlines. This decision is also dictated by the desire to adopt high international standards of passenger service and ensure the safety of flights on all routes," the message quoted the head of state as saying.

The Turkmenistan Airlines company has been buying Boeing airliners for more than 20 years for international and domestic flights, while the outdated Soviet-style aircraft have been put on sale. Earlier it was reported that Turkmenistan Airlines company plans to completely upgrade its air fleet with first-class Boeing aircraft by 2020.
