By Matanat Nasibova – Trend:
Azerbaijani poultry company Zagatala Broiler LLC plans to increase imports of breeding chickens, the head of LLC Vahid Mammadov told Trend.
"The volume of production of chicken products today partially covers the domestic demand of the population in Azerbaijan, so we plan to increase the share of chicken imports in order to expand the production of broiler chicken products," he said.
According to the head of LLC, the company is engaged in growing broiler chickens, producing chicken meat and other poultry products.
"We import chickens mainly from Georgia, then we grow them in Zagatala Broiler LLC poultry farm. The number of imported poultry differs from year to year. In particular, a couple of years ago, this figure was only 20,000-23,000 chickens annually. In recent years, imports have increased four to five times. Last year, we purchased about 100,000 chickens in Georgia, according to the results of the current year, the volume of purchases amounted to 120,000," Mammadov said.
Manufactured products have a Certificate of Conformity issued by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents and the Hygienic Certificate issued by the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan.
The company uses modern equipment made in Turkey.
