Turkmenistan's GDP grows significantly since early 2018

Turkmenistan’s GDP has grown by 6.2 percent in the first nine month of 2018, said a message from Turkmen government.

According to the results of the financial analysis for the reporting period, the country’s industrial sector grew by 4.2 percent, construction - by 0.6 percent, transport and communications sector - by 10.8 percent , trade - by 7.6 percent, agriculture - by 4.9 percent, service sector - by 10.6 percent.

The retail turnover indicator in comparison with the same period of the last year is 19.5 percent more.

Turkmenistan, according to the report of British Petroleum (BP), ranks fourth in terms of natural gas reserves in the world and at this stage exports it to China and Iran.

Turkmenistan is pursuing industrialization aimed at increasing the volume of production of import-substituting products and export development.

The World Bank forecasted GDP growth in Turkmenistan in 2018 at 6.3 percent; The United Nations (UN) forecasts an increase in the economy of Turkmenistan by 4.8 percent in 2018.
