Production of dairy products in Kazakhstan has increased by almost 8 percent for the year, Energyprom.kz reported.

"In the eight months, Kazakhstan produced 340,300 tons of milk and cream, which is 7.7 percent more than a year earlier," the report said.

Almost two-thirds of production across the country accounted for three regions - North Kazakhstan (25.7 percent), Almaty (20.3 percent) and Kostanay (16.6 percent).

Kazakhstan's dairy enterprises cover the country’s demand for milk and cream by 96.6 percent, thus almost displacing all imports from the market. Therefore, the volume of imported products for the seven months of the year decreased 44.5 percent year-on-year.

Moreover, having covered domestic needs, dairy companies of Kazakhstan increased exports by 67.2 percent for the year.
