Gold production in Kazakhstan increases by almost 13%

In Kazakhstan, the production of raw and semi-processed gold or gold in powder form amounted to 71,361 kilograms in January-September 2018, Kazinform reported referring to the Statistics Committee of Kazakh National Economy Ministry.

This is 12.9 percent more than in the same period of 2017.

At the same time, the production of raw and semi-processed silver or silver in powder form amounted to 711,280 kilograms in the reporting period, which is 10.4 percent less than a year earlier.

The raw material base of the gold mining industry of Kazakhstan includes mainly medium and small deposits, which account for 70 percent of the all gold produced in the country. The leading positions are held by deposits in Eastern, Northern and Central Kazakhstan.

The largest gold deposits in the country are Vasilkovskoye and Bakyrchik, which are followed by Aksu, Zholymbet, Bestobe and Akbakay deposits.

Kazakhstan also has more than 250 proper silver deposits (with a 70 percent or greater share of silver in ores in relation to other useful components) and complex silver deposits (with the share of 30-70 percent).
