Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev invited Finnish companies to invest in the country's agricultural sector, Kazakh media reported.

During the meeting with Finnish business representatives within the framework of his official visit to Finland, Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstan pays special attention to the agricultural sector – a state program for the development of the agro-industrial complex is being implemented, which provides state support for producers and processors of agricultural products.

"The priorities of the development of this sector are increasing productivity with the introduction of new technologies and processing of agricultural products and their export. We invite Finnish companies to actively implement projects in the agro-industrial complex," the Kazakh president said.

Nazarbayev arrived to Finland on an official visit on Oct. 16. During the visit, a memorandum of cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering was signed between the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan and the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries.

Moreover, Kazakh president met with Chairman of Nokia Corporation Risto Siilasmaa.

During the visit, Nazarbayev will also meet with President of Finland Sauli Niinisto and will take part in the Business Representatives Forum.
