Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the US is a strategic partnership, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan reported citing US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.
"Trade and economic relations between our countries are developing steadily. The agreements reached by the heads of state during the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the US in May this year play an important role in this," he said.
"I want to note that President Donald Trump fully supports the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan in all spheres. In particular, the United States is ready to assist in your country's accession to the World Trade Organization. Moreover, we plan to send a mission of the US Department of Commerce to Uzbekistan in 2019," Ross said.
According to him, Uzbekistan has great opportunities not only for entrepreneurship, but also for the development of tourism.
“I think our cooperation in these areas will be further strengthened,” he added.
