Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda region has begun work to increase the types and volumes of agricultural exports and to meet the needs of the domestic market, Kazinform reported.
Thus, it is planned to start delivery of Kyzylorda rice, which is already exported to Mongolia, Turkey and Afghanistan, to Iran. Large and small cattle of the region are exported to Uzbekistan, Iran and the UAE, while vegetables and melons - to China and Russia.
This year 10 projects with a total value of 7.1 billion tenge are being implemented in the agro-industrial complex of Kyzylorda. These include a meat processing plant, an automated greenhouse with an area of 2 hectares, the construction of a poultry farm with a capacity of 1,500 tons of meat, a dairy farm with 1,200 heads and feedlots, etc.
Active measures are being taken in the region to prevent the shortage of irrigation water and diversify agriculture. First, the acreage of forage and oilseeds, potatoes, vegetables and melons is being increased.
Secondly, in order to improve the reclaimed irrigated lands, the yield of plants is being increased. Three major projects worth 127.3 billion tenge are being implemented in this direction.
Thirdly, smart technologies are being introduced. Agrochemical soil analysis for the effective use of mineral fertilizers, computer monitoring of agricultural machinery and weather forecasts will reduce production costs and increase labor productivity.
In 2019 it is planned to produce at least 10 types of food products, which will ensure food security, stable food prices and create new jobs.
Moreover, the cluster method of livestock development is being introduced in Kyzylorda region. The measures being taken are expected to increase production of meat by 17 percent, of milk by 7 percent, of eggs by 65 percent and of poultry meat by 69.9 times by 2019.
