Despite all the challenges to remain in the Chabahar Port project, India has complied with its obligations and will not leave this important Iranian port,” India's Foreign Secretary on Economic Relations T.S.Tirmurti told ISNA.

"Given the unique geographical position of the Iranian port, the progress of its operations could certainly mean the growth of trilateral ties between Iran, India and Afghanistan and even other regional countries,” he said referring to the importance of Chabahar Port project.

“The expert groups of three countries are also observing the aspects of the project and trying find the right solution,” he said about Iran`s access to financial systems due to the Us sanctions.

“A few weeks ago a group of bank experts from Iran had a trip to India to talk over the current banking contracts," he said.

"India, as it has already stated, is fully committed to the development of Chabahar port. We are working to keep the banking and insurance channels, and India does not intend to leave the port right now, " he added.
