In accordance with the current exception related to the purchase of oil, India can buy 300,000 barrels of oil daily from Iran within six months, said Indian Ambassador to Iran Saurabh Kumar, ILNA reported.

He was speaking at a meeting in the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture dedicated to the form of regulated mechanisms in order to organize trade in the period of sanctions.

Half of this money will be repaid in Indian rupees to Iranian banks operating at Indian banks, he said.

He noted that Iran can purchase such essential products as food and medicines for this money. This money can also be used by Iran’s Embassy in India or by Iranian students studying at Indian universities or by Iranian companies in India as investments, he said.

He added that the remaining amount of the money can be converted into euros and other currencies and transferred to Iran. Of course, a mechanism for the money transfer should be provided, he said.

The Indian ambassador said that all products not covered by the sanctions may be exchanged between the two countries.

Most Indian companies are interested and willing to cooperate with Iran, he added.
