In January-October 2018, the retail trade turnover in Uzbekistan amounted to 104,846.6 billion soums, which is 5.2 percent more compared to the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a report.
According to the information, the retail trade turnover of large enterprises amounted to 14,023.5 billion soums (a 24.4-percent increase), small businesses – 90,823.1 billion soums (2.7 percent). Of the total turnover of small businesses, sale of goods in unorganized trade amounted to 12,837.3 billion soums (a 2.3-percent decline).
Increasing retail sales was observed in all regions of the country, with the relatively high growth rates being the Jizzakh, Bukhara, Khorezm, Navoi regions and the city of Tashkent.
In the structure of retail trade, share of catering enterprises amounted to 2.8 percent, reaching 2,920.2 billion soums and increasing by 2.4 percent compared to the same period last year. Of the total amount, 85.6 percent accounted for small businesses.
