Implementation of a number of projects with the participation of Azerbaijan’s state agencies are planned next year in order to develop women’s entrepreneurship, Head of Azerbaijan’s Association of Women Entrepreneurs Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

She said that the upcoming projects are planned to be implemented in the field of agriculture and various segments of the economy.

“We plan to implement a number of serious projects aimed at supporting women’s entrepreneurship in the Azerbaijani districts with the assistance of the ministries of agriculture, economy, social protection and labor,” she said. “Presently, the projects are under consideration in these agencies, and we are planning to start their implementation in the first months of next year.”

She noted that women’s entrepreneurship is a new factor for the growth of the development of the national economy.

“Women’s entrepreneurship may soon become an important segment of the economy, because Azerbaijani women are involved in almost all spheres of life,” said Babayeva.

According to statistics, over 143,000 women are engaged in entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan’s Association of Women Entrepreneurs was established with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs in October 2017.
