Azerbaijan has started the process of adapting the Uber model in the agriculture sector to ensure the availability of agriculture machinery and services, Adviser to Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture for Innovations Shabnam Mammadova told Trend.

She said that in this regard, Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Ministry is working to implement the AqroUber project, worth approximately 100,000 manats.

“This is an innovative project, which aims in general to accelerate the adaptation of agriculture innovations, and in particular to provide farmers with agriculture machinery, tractors, combines, etc.,” said Mammadova. “We believe the Web and mobile platforms will play a communicative role between farmers and owners of agriculture machinery.”

She noted that the innovative project will provide an opportunity to monitor the entire workflow in real time.

“The project involves searching for the right agriculture machinery, making orders for execution of work and providing the necessary agricultural equipment to farmers,” she said.
