Russia’s Caspian Flat Glass Plant to make big supply to Uzbekistan

Russia’s Caspian Flat Glass Plant will supply Uzbekistan’s company Kommet Pro with products for $5 million by the end of 2019, Uzbek media reported referring to the Investment Company of Vnesheconombank, which assists in the operational management of the plant.

The corresponding contract has been signed between the plant and Kommet Pro, part of the Vitech Group, with the possibility of extending the supply of products at the request of the customer.

The Vitech Group produces household appliances under the Vitech trademark. The company decided to buy a colorless flat glass in due to the launch of the glass processing plant for its own production. The required volume of purchases is one-to-five railway cars per month.

Caspian Flat Glass Plant has been operating since 2013. In 2017-2018, the plant exported (excluding the Customs Union countries) products for a total of over 1.2 billion rubles. The share of the export in the total revenue amounted to 31 percent in 2017 and 39 percent in 2018. The plant exports products to Azerbaijan, Greece, Poland and other countries.

Russia is the second largest foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan. In January-September 2018, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia amounted to $4.18 billion, of which $1.53 billion is exported from Uzbekistan, and $2.65 billion is imported from Russia.
