The Law on Payment Services and Payment Systems is expected to be adopted in 1Q2019, a source in Azerbaijani financial market told Trend.
It was earlier reported that the law was to be adopted before the end of 2018.
The bill is in the parliament, and the Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA) is making some improvements to it.
The adoption of the law will pave the way for emergence of many innovative products.
"After its adoption, conditions will be created for banks as well as other market participants to enter the market of non-cash payments," the source said.
