A modern vegetable storage facility was put into operation in Petropavlovsk, the administration of the North Kazakhstan Region said in a statement. The facility will provide high-quality and year-round storage of fruits and vegetables.

The storage facility, which can contain 2,000 tons of products, was built by Raduga LLP with state support.

It is the first vegetable storage facility in the region with climate control and the possibility of separate storage. The facility will allow to store fruits and vegetables until the new harvest.

"Old facilities cannot store products until the summer period, so from March we always have sharp hikes in prices for vegetables. Now, we have the possibility to avoid this until the new harvest," said the governor of the region, Kumar Aksakalov, during a visit to the new vegetable storage facility.

The new facility will allow to store vegetables until July.

This year, 110,000 tons of vegetables were harvested in the North Kazakhstan Region. Next year, the region plans to increase the areas planted with vegetables.
