Last Iranian year (started March 21, 2017), the industrial export from Iran’s Isfahan province amounted to $1.2 billion, and this figure increased by nearly 35 percent in the first eight months of the current year, Esrafil Ahmadiyeh, chairman of Isfahan Province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, said in an interview with IRNA.

He said that the exported products mostly included iron, steel, foodstuffs, decorative stones and petrochemical products.

He noted that over 70 percent of the industrial units in this province are active: 9,300 industrial units have an operation license.

He said that this year, a loan worth 26 trillion rials (over $619 million) is envisaged for industrial units in the province in order to increase jobs.

Considering the bank loans’ interest rate of 18 percent, these funds won’t be repaid by the end of the year, he noted.

“Although approximately 150 billion rials (over $3.57 million) is envisaged for each manufacturing and industrial unit, the banks should reconsider their interest rates due to economic problems and inflation,” he said.

He noted that deficiency of construction materials caused 30 percent of industrial units to stop their activity.
